Modern Slavery & Human Rights Statement

This statement applies to Taurus Insurance Services Ltd, together with its subsidiaries Taurus Support Services and Switched On Insurance Coöperatief U.A. (collectively "Taurus / we / us / our") and is made to reflect our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, and ensuring respect for human rights in our operations and supply chains.

About Taurus

Taurus Insurance Services Ltd is a Gibraltar based insurance intermediary, distributing travel and gadget insurance. We also act as claims handler for the gadget insurance product. We are supported by our subsidiary Taurus Support Services, who provide key operational support and services. Switched On Insurance Coöperatief U.A. supports our EU-based operations and ensures compliance with European partner expectations.

Our Commitment

We recognise that modern slavery and human rights issues are global, complex, and evolving. Although Taurus does not meet the reporting threshold under Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (nor those of similar EU directives), we are committed to adopting and maintaining robust practices to ensure that slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, or other human rights violations do not occur within our business or supply chains. We further commit to aligning with partner expectations across the UK and EU.

Our Structure and Supply Chain

Our operations are primarily office-based, with claims handling, customer service, underwriting and underwriting partnerships, and administrative support provided internally or through trusted partners.

Our supply chain includes underwriting, IT Support, repair services and replacement services.

Key Policies & Due Diligence

To manage risk, we have put in place the following processes and measures:

1. Supplier / Vendor Due Diligence

  • We conduct due diligence on new suppliers, service providers, and business partners.
  • Supplier contracts include clauses requiring compliance with human rights and labour standards and obligations to disclose information as needed.
  • We actively monitor our ongoing supplier relationships, seeking information on working conditions, rights, and compliance.

2. Risk Assessment & Monitoring

  • We regularly assess which parts of our operations and supply chain might pose higher risks of modern slavery or human rights violations.
  • We reserve the right to carry out monitoring or auditing of third parties to verify adherence to our ethical and compliance requirements.

3. Policies and Governance

  • We maintain policies including Whistleblowing, Business Ethics & Conduct, Recruitment, and Grievance.
  • Our employees and third parties are encouraged to report any concerns related to human rights or modern slavery via internal channels.

4. Training & Awareness

  • We provide awareness training for staff on modern slavery / human rights issues.
  • All staff are required to complete annual refresher training to ensure ongoing compliance with our ethical, legal, and regulatory obligations.

5. Recruitment and Rights of Employees

  • We ensure all employees, contractors, and service providers engaged by us have the legal right to work.
  • We strive to maintain fair working conditions, including reasonable remuneration and adherence to applicable labour laws.

Looking Forward

  • We will review this statement annually to assess its effectiveness and make improvements.
  • We aim to enhance our supplier risk assessment tools and integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations more deeply into our contract and vendor selection processes.
  • We will continue to monitor developments in UK, EU, and international laws regarding human rights, modern slavery, and due diligence, to ensure we remain compliant and on best practice footing.
